I set out to do my 12 days of DC Christmas as a challenge to do something more; to stretch the creative muscles that haven't been used in a long time.  I didn't think it would go anywhere, but actually, as well as getting some kind compliments from people, it's reignited my need to draw.

So, I thought, let's see just how far I can go with this.  Usually, when I sit down and doodle with one finger and my iPad, I draw women or I draw chibi characters, much like my DC Christmas ones.  I very rarely draw men.  I don't know why, but men have always been an incredible struggle for me.  I can't shape their figures easily and their facial structure, mouth shape and eyes have always been vexxing.  This time, I figured, I'd draw a man and see what happens.  After all, if it's crappo, I can just delete it.

After a couple of hours, this is what I came up with.

I don't want to be smug or anything, but I'd say for one finger and an iPad, it came out pretty well considering I was 99% convinced I was still unable to draw men.  I don't think I can call it a doodle any more, so I'm going to call it a doodle+

I was so pleased with the outcome, in fact, I've actually re-activated my DeviantArt account.  It's been years since I've used it.  So I archived the older stuff, left the pieces I don't hate and have started afresh.  If you're interested, it's here:

Also, a friend at work gave me some great inspiration for later in the year.  Stay tuned for that!
